Pond Excavation in Holt, MO

Holt is on the I-35 corridor at the northern edge of Clay County, about 45 miles northeast of our Shawnee shop, in rolling farm and pasture country with plenty of natural pond sites.

We build ponds here for cattle, fishing and runoff control. The work starts with choosing a site that collects enough water and has soil that will seal. Then we clear the area, strip topsoil, dig and shape the basin, build the dam in compacted layers and set a spillway sized for heavy storms. For livestock, we can leave a controlled access point or build a fenced pond with a tank below the dam.
