Pond Excavation in Lansing, KS

Lansing is about 25 miles north of our Shawnee shop in Leavenworth County, with steep wooded bluffs toward the Missouri River on the east and rolling acreage to the west. Most of the ponds we dig here are on that western acreage, for fishing, scenery or to control runoff around new homes.

We lay out the pond around the property's natural drainage, check that the soil will seal, and plan a size that will stay full without overtopping. Then we clear the site, dig and shape the basin, compact the dam in layers and build a spillway. On sloping lots, we pay extra attention to erosion control during and after construction.
