Pond Excavation in Rich Hill, MO
Rich Hill is in southern Bates County, about 85 miles from our Shawnee shop, in an area shaped by decades of coal mining. Some properties around town have old strip pits and spoil ground, and those sites need a careful look before anyone builds a pond.
Old mine ground can be uneven, rocky or prone to seepage, so we evaluate the soil and the lay of the land first. Sometimes the best answer is reshaping an existing pit into a usable pond; other times it's choosing a site on undisturbed ground. Either way, we clear the site, dig and shape the basin, compact the dam and build a spillway sized for the drainage.
On regular farm ground, we build stock and fishing ponds the same way we do across the region. Because of the drive, we plan Rich Hill jobs to finish in one mobilization. For a free pond estimate, call (913) 912-3820.
